Though we have not been very good about writing blog posts this season, we have tried to keep a v-blog on our YouTube Channel. We are a few weeks behind schedule but hope you enjoy our latest installment on our trip from Little River, SC to Wrightsville Beach, NC.

We have been following your blogs for a long time now and it has helped tremendously! We just splashed in Annapolis 3 weeks ago after months refitting our 42 Passport “Renaissance”. We will be doing the ICW (via Virginia Cut as we are 6’3″ draft) to Florida for our first cruise as we are pretty much new at this. Your notes are awesome and pics, videos are even better! What do you have as a camera/video camera?
We hope to make the run with like cruisers come October taking our time to get to Norfolk.

    Thanks again!

      Hello Cheryl and Dave,

Thanks for the kind comments. It is good to know that some folks are finding our site useful. And we are totally jealous of your trip!

We occasionally use a Go Pro Hero 3. However, this year we have been using an Olympus T4 Tough that we love. It is waterproof to 15 meters and can supposedly be dropped from one or two stories without breaking. So far, it has stood up to cruising. But, just as importantly, it takes great photos and videos. It has virtually replaced our Go Pro because it is so easy to use, can hold a charge for a long time, and has a built-in LCD screen on the back.

We will be in Annapolis for the sailboat show in October. We would love to meet up if you guys are still there. Regardless, if we can try to answer any questions you may have about the ICW, just shoot us an email.

      Best,
      Jeff
